My first experience in experimenting with color most likely was with my 64 Crayola Crayon pack with a built-in crayon sharper in the back. I loved arranging and rearranging the colored crayons into new color combinations more than I enjoyed coloring and drawing with them. One year, for my birthday, I got a special edition Crayola Crayon tin that had every color a 5 year old could imagine. The crayons that were usually run down to a stub in my pack were Midnight Blue, Olive Green, Dandelion and Brick Red. I was seriously disappointed to see that the Crayola Online Store no longer carries my favorite pack, but they do have the Crayon Tower which places a distant second in my heart.
Recently I ran across this post on COLOURLovers. This is a great resource for all those Crayon lovers out there. There is a list of the Hex and RGB values for all of Crayola’s 120 current colors to spice up your websites! If only Pantone had such creative names like Atomic Tangerine and Wild Blue Yonder, I would be set.
