There are more design events happening in New York than I could possibly attend, but one that I really hope to see in the next couple of weeks is an exhibition of April Grieman’s work at the School of Visual Arts. “April Greiman: Does It Make Sense?” is a retrospective of the experimental designer’s work, held in conjunction with her receipt of SVA’s Masters Series Award. The exhibition features a broad range of her work, from installations and experimental videos to posters and identity systems.

The Masters Series, an annual award exhibition to celebrate outstanding visual communicators, was instituted by SVA founder Silas H. Rhodes in 1988. Greiman joins the ranks of many esteemed designers to receive the award before her, including Paula Scher, Paul Rand and Massimo Vignelli, to name a few.

The exhibition is being held at the Visual Arts Museum: 209 East 23 Street (between 2nd and 3rd) through December 13th. For more information call 212.592.2145 or check out the exhibit website right here.
